Todd Griffith

Todd Griffith is a painter’s painter. His aggressive use of bold, thick, layered texture, with a vibrant depth of color and choice of imagery, challenges, yet honors, the history of painting. With a creative imagination, his representational forms and subject matter portray the emotions one may face within their own tangled niche of society. Griffith is an artist that is influenced by abstract expressionist and surrealist art, focusing on the concepts of expression of inner self. Art is about life.

Griffith is an American artist living in Central Oregon. With an emphasis towards acrylic painting on canvas, Griffith also does drawings and sculpture.

Born in Portland in 1979, Griffith graduated from the University of Denver in 2001, receiving a BFA degree. He also graduated from the University of Oregon in 2005, receiving a MFA degree in Painting.

Griffith has worked in the construction industry, retail art sales, graphic design, and most recently for renowned theatrical designer, Michael Curry, at Michael Curry Designs, painting puppets, costumes, and theatrical scene set designs.
