Megan Phallon
A current resident of Sisters, Megan was born in Washington state and spent her youth in northern California and Minnesota. She was raised in an environment that embraced art and music of all genres, and influenced by the cultures and peoples of her youth. Time spent traveling and living outside the United States, as well as her family embracing an “off grid” lifestyle are all reflected in her art. Central Oregon has a particular draw to Megan’s love of the outdoors, running, and numerous recreational activities.
Lifelong struggles with narcolepsy, as well as many surgeries in her youth have also influenced her art in unique ways. “Many times my paintings are reflections of my dreams, in vivid abstract colors and patterns,” Megan notes. Painting is an outlet for her to vent struggles endured, and her setbacks become outlets for creativity.

Megan started painting and drawing early in her life, placing her first piece in sixth grade. “I was already thinking abstractly; it was a painting of apples picking people of all ages off of the trees.”
Numerous visits to galleries in San Francisco and Mendocino further fueled her interest and taste in art. She was drawn to artists like Roland Penrose, the style of Lowbrow, and the vibrant colors of Haitian painters. Working mainly with acrylics and using brush and knife, her paintings come to life.
Megan has paintings with private clients throughout the West, and public displays in Tin Pan Alley in Bend. It’s also important to her to support local charitable events and groups, particularly in her community of Sisters.
