Mary Moore
Mary received a master’s degree in art therapy many years ago, and has worked with others in a variety of art media.
In the past three years, Mary has focused on working in clay. Her ceramic sculptures were recently shown at Guardino Gallery in Portland, Oregon, and formerly at the Sunriver Art Gallery. She now shows her work at Sisters Gallery and Frame Shop and in many regional art fairs and exhibits.

Using different clay-bodies allows Mary to explore a range of vertical options in her ceramic work. She adjusts the cone firing (cone 04-6.0) to accommodate different clays. Mary primarily uses under glazes that are lead free and embellishes some pieces with acrylic paints. Each piece is designed using a technique called “sgraffito” in which a partial surface of the under-glaze is removed in a pattern before firing.
