Passionate about life, art, and the creative process, JoAnn uses color, textures, and light in her journey of the senses. While she has worked with oils, acrylics and mixed media in the past, her greatest satisfaction comes from working with pastels. Subject matter primarily includes landscapes and abstracts. Much of her work is plein air.

JoAnn likens her diverse color palette to the diversity of the human spirit. She believes that we cannot effectively capture the essence of anything without experiencing it in the context of the environment in which it lives. This is true for the human spirit as well.

The richness and complexity of her work draws you into her paintings and brings you to a place of quiet within. JoAnn's passion for art and painting has contributed to her sense of well-being and inner peace.
