Gordon Baker

I am a geologist who paints. My primary goal is to become the best artist that I am capable of being. All of my life I have had an interest in nature both organic and inorganic. This led me to become a geologist, and later to be both geologist and artist.

I began painting in 2000 at age 63, developing a representational style. Thus I began a life-time journey to capture mood or tell a story in my paintings. I have no formal training, but have received generous support from my many artist friends and learning by my continuous research on the social internet, and a few workshops.

I paint with oil on canvas. My main interest is landscape and seascape, although I have painted portraits of the extended family and self.
